"As for these four young men, God gave them knowledge and skill in all literature and wisdom, and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams." - Daniel 1:17
"If one advances confidently in the direction of one's dreams, and endeavors to live the life which one has imagined, one will meet with a success unexpected in common hours." (Henry David Thomas-'Unexpected Blessings') The Bible records many individuals who God gifted with receiving dreams and visions. As Moses was educated in the knowledge of Egypt, so Daniel and his friends acquired a Chaldean education. Daniel had the additional advantage of understanding visions and dreams. As our youth prepare to advance to their next educational level in the culture they live in, reflect on how we encourage them in their endeavors. There are many celebrations marking this year's accomplishments, but more importantly we should encourage them using God's words in the well known scripture Jeremiah 29:11, as well as Matt. 6:33-34, "But seek you first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble." (Nelson Study Bible)
"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ." - Ephesians 1:3
"To everything there is a season,
A time to be born, and a time to die.
A time to kill and a time to heal.
A time to weep and a time to laugh;
A time to mourn and a time to dance.
A time to gain, and a time to lose;
A time to keep and a time to throw away.
A time to love and a time to hate;
A time of war and a time of peace."
Everything has its time. Season and time are usually regarded as being specific points in time rather than a continuity of time. Born and die are actual events in human life and are under the hand of the living God. Weep and laugh, as well as mourn and dance, include both sorrows and joys/celebrations. To keep and throw away is a period in which one wishes to accumulate things for enjoyment and memories; later in life we have to dispose of what has been accumulated. The positive is to love and the negative is to hate. The road won't always be easy, but God will never leave you; and as you move through the seasons of your life, He will not be silent.
