Nurture Division
Care & Concern Ministry
Our ministry is dedicated to uplifting Cascade’s sick and shut-in members with care and compassion. We provide spiritual, emotional, and personal support through visits, calls, texts, cards, and thoughtful gifts to those who are ill, hospitalized, in rehabilitation, or homebound. Throughout the year, we gather virtually and in person to prepare meaningful Easter and Christmas gift baskets that share love and community.

Christian Education
To assist members to grow in their Christian formation through Bible Study and practical application of Scripture. We become more mature disciples through information about Christ and the Gospel message. The aim is for the growth of the individual to transform the entire being. Therefore, our motto is “to form…to inform…to transform”. We offer a variety of Bible Studies for all ages and all seasons of life.

Discipleship Ministry
The Discipleship Ministry is one of the three pillars of Cascade UMC’s vision, rooted in our call to make disciples (Matthew 28:18–20) through mentoring, outreach, and Christ-centered relationships. We focus on welcoming and guiding new members, supporting confirmation, and reconnecting those who have been separated from the church.

Emergency Care Team
Strengthen congregational safety and preparedness by implementing a comprehensive emergency response plan, conducting quarterly training drills, and ensuring all Emergency Care Team members maintain current CPR, first aid, and crisis response certifications. You do not have to work in the health field to be a member of this ministry. CPR and basic first aid training is provided to ministry members.

The Health and Wellness Ministry empowers the Cascade community to live healthier, more informed lives through education on critical health issues impacting the African American diaspora. GriefShare Ministry
GriefShare is a nationally recognized grief support group for adults who have experienced the loss of a loved one. This group uses GriefShare materials. Our meetings are open to the congregation and the community.

Stephen Ministry
The Stephen Ministry is a global, not-for-profit Christian organization providing high-quality, one-to-one lay care to individuals experiencing life crises. Trained congregational members offer confidential, emotional, and spiritual support – such as listening, prayer, and encouragement – for issues like grief, divorce, job loss, or illness, usually meeting weekly with care receivers.

Stewardship Ministry
The Stewardship Ministry is a collaborative ministry whose role is to help every believer recognize and faithfully manage all that God has entrusted to them—time, talents, finances, and spiritual gifts. We serve as a resource for the wellbeing of the congregation to aid in faithful engagement, in managing resources wisely and in giving intentionally. Our major project is coordinating church wide involvement through Ministry Expos held throughout the year, supported by volunteers who help implement the events and follow up with individuals who expressed interest in joining ministries.

Business Alliance/Cascade Career Network (CCN)
The Cascade Business Alliance connects Cascade UMC members who are business owners for collaboration, networking, and growth opportunities. Through CCN, Cascade also supports individuals seeking career, entrepreneurial, and job transition assistance through job search support, career development, and job creation initiatives.

Homeless Ministry
The Homeless and Collaborative Ministry of Cascade United Methodist Church has a long history of volunteerism with the home- less population of Atlanta, Georgia. Our mission and commitment was first established by providing meals and has expanded to assisting with clothing, housing and offering it offered the ability to attend school with Atlanta Technical College. The Homeless Ministry is now expanding their programmatic focus to include children and financial literacy.

Cascade Action Partners (CAP)
Cascade Action Partners (CAP) organizes the church and community to pursue social justice through Christ. It addresses social issues through education, advocacy, and non-partisan grassroots action. CAP empowers people to use their “citizen power” for justice and equal rights.

Habitat for Humanity Ministry
Each year, Cascade United Methodist Church sponsors and build at least one home for a deserving family who is selected by Atlanta Habitat for Humanity. Women and men volunteer their time and effort to build the home from the ground up. No expertise is required to volunteer.

Celebration of Life Ministry
Cascade United Methodist Church affirms life and accepts death as a reality. The Celebration of Life Ministry is committed to providing spiritual and support services to Cascade families who are experiencing terminal illness and/or bereavement. We annually celebrate the lives of Cascade’s decreased on All Saints Day. We believe that it is our Christian duty to provide any and all needed support during these items of celebration.
